Death in a meadow.

So Tuesday I went to this ashram where a few friends of mine and (reluctantly) I snuck into a cow pasture. The aim was to hang out with these big creatures since apparently they were very friendly. I was in disbelief.

We all came through the gate, but I remained close to it as the rest of the gang proceeded across the grass to the animals. I watched from afar as one of them (the one whose name one of my friends actually knew) came up to be petted and sniff everyone. Seeing as things were "safe" I proceeded slowly to join my companions. As I take my third step, the cow, who turned out to be a bull, noticed me and took great interest. He started to frolic toward me at a speed greater than what I felt comfortable with. I wondered if I should run, but the best my body could do is freeze in fear, of course. I braced myself and closed my eyes, only to reopen them to a sensation of licking.

I guess he was friendly after all. But in the few seconds that my brain wasn't positive of this fact, I really thought I'd meet the end of my days in that meadow.
