VDT Safety

Here's a great article about working safely with the computer... VDT Safety

"

Remember...

  • Spending long hours in front of VDT's can cause a number of physical problems.
  • Adjusting your VDT correctly can help limit eyestrain problems.
  • " Customizing " your work area so that eye movement is limited can also help.
  • Many adjustments can be made using everyday materials such as boxes, rolled up towels or a telephone book.
  • To reduce muscle stress and strain, always maintain good " sitting posture " .
  • Glare can be limited by adjusting light levels from both windows and interior lights.
  • Studies have concluded that VDT's do not give off hazardous levels of radiation."
