I believe in your creative power. I believe it can help you tune into who you truly are... Who you're meant to be. And I believe this will change the world.

Art Class is BACK!

I’m excited to announce that we will be restarting our art class this coming Thursday May 9th, 2013 at 7pm in the Old Stone House.

A little bit more about our art class…

We are a creative community of adults and children (ages 10+) who support one another in our artistic development. We are all equal, no matter our age, talent, or experience. We simply come together to share a safe space where fun, expression and beauty can flow freely.

Our classes offer ample art supplies for students to experiment with. The format we mostly use is mixed media art journaling, which may include drawing, painting, collage and whatever else we imagine.

Some instruction and direction may be offered, but students are encouraged to experiment and learn from their own “mistakes”. Emphasis is placed on acceptance of one’s art and working through those “mistakes,” which often are the fertile ground for true creativity to grow. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children. One-on-one supervision is preferred for young kids to ensure a comfortable working environment for all, but children are accepted as equals and often teach us adults about the creative freedoms we might have forgotten. Adults, both male and female are also welcome to participate without children if they promise to behave themselves.

So are you willing to unleash your creativity? We have found that the willingness is always the first step; everything else just falls into place. So come as you are – we welcome you. You can start attending anytime and are free to take as many classes as you’d like. Your first class will be FREE and subsequent ones will cost $10 per adult and $5 per child.

Classes are offered weekly on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm. They are held on the second floor of The Old Stone House in Hasbrouck located just minutes from Liberty, Woodbourne, Ellenville and Monticello. The exact address is 282 Hasbrouck Road, Woodbourne, NY 12788. To sign up, please contact Paulina at design(at)simplepea.com.
