I believe in your creative power. I believe it can help you tune into who you truly are... Who you're meant to be. And I believe this will change the world.

Color vs. Black & White

So it's so funny that tonight Abby posted about always using color and wondering if she should try black and white, because I posed the exact opposite question to myself tonight. I'm working on my 8th sketch so far, and each is done with my favorite Uni-Ball pen.

One thing we have in common though, is that I'm also just allowing myself to accept exactly what comes out of my hand. It's an exercise in honesty and authenticity, both qualities often missing in my creativity as I "strive to impress." But in this striving, I lose an ability to reach a depth which is a natural spring of creativity deep within each of us.

I don't feel ready to share any of my drawings with the public yet. Will I ever get there? I'm not sure. I'm not going to worry about that though, and I'll just go about this one sketch at a time.

Tonight's drawing is based on a quote I heard "If you lived in your heart, you'd be home by now." I don't know who it is attributed to, but it fits perfectly with my Sketchbook Project theme "...you'd be home by now." And it fits with the theme of my own experience these days.
