So, in that aforementioned nutshell, the basic premise of this project is:
- The Sketchbook Project is organized by the Brooklyn Art Library
- You get a sketchbook with a barcode on it so it is trackable
- You sketch in it for 3 months and send it back
- It then goes around a national tour along with thousands of other sketchbooks
- Every time someone looks at yours, the barcode gets scanned and you get a message letting you know your book was viewed
- After the tour is done, the books go back to the art library to be a part of their collection, and in a way, a historical archive of what this sample of population was thinking about and creating in 2011.
- Anyone can participate by signing up before October 31, 2010 -the cost is $25.
